My Children’s Day Experience

Today being Children’s Day and a Sunday I was excited.
I wanted to praise God but sincerely yours,my extra excitement was because of the snacks that was to be shared in church…(I am a foodie, please don’t blame me…LOL) .

So I got to church, danced, listened to the sermon and finally closing prayer  and announcement was said so you know what that means( besides that was when they  snacks or food were shared if at all there’s any event,so you should get the excitement).
I got downstairs preparing to receive my special package.
I saw different people with ice-cream,cake,small chops and drink.
The joy in my heart , (No one knew how bad I wanted those snacks).
It’s not that I can’t buy it BUT come on,this one is FREE ,if you don’t know the meaning of free it means NO PAYMENT, like NO DIME out of my pocket
(Who doesn’t like free things…the answer is NO ONE,so I am permitted to be happy).

While I was downstairs,I was waiting for us to be called to take our personal package home (because normally they call us ,then distribute anything they have for us).
So I was standing with my friend waiting for the call(she had no idea what was going on in my mind).
I waited 5 mins,10 mins,15 mins, nothing came.
In my mind I told myself “Motun, calm down, don’t worry your package is coming”.
I waited for like 30 mins(please don’t think it’s because of only snacks that I was waiting.I was also waiting for someone and that was  an opportunity to kill 2 birds with a stone).

So while waiting and moving my body to the music that was playing at that moment, someone approached my friend and told her that it’s for only children(small kids) and of course I heard that conversation.
You needed to see how my heart gradually started melting.
I was sad within( I didn’t let it show as per I’m a big girl ).
I was like what kind of rubbish is that, Am I not a child ? Don’t I have parents?
But at the same time ,I was confused because I saw people older than me taking snacks and I was like “what’s going on here(in my mind)”.
I couldn’t voice out though because I’m shy and at the same time I was kind of forming big girl but really O dun mi gan ( It really pained me).

My friend and I left church with her little sister and on our way home, I said in a joking way that “Are we not children, why didn’t they give us (I meant it tho…LOL)”.
My friend’s little sister then said, they gave other people, you just needed to go to where they were sharing it and I was like “Are you kidding me?”.
She said No, I’m serious . Didn’t you see those older than you that took snacks.
That was when I realized what really happened but we had already left the church.(So sad)
Anyway I learnt my lesson,
I came back home to eat and then sleep.
Next time I will not  be shy and will not  form big girl.

I hope you all enjoyed my story and you learnt from it..
